I have a question.We pulled a 40′ sinker cypress log out of the river and apparently some 30 or 40 years before it was harvested for timber.someone attached a 1×3″board to the side from the bottom to around 40′ off the ground. The tree grew completely around the board and the board has since rotted away.Any ideas on the reason for the board? If I knew how to post a photo, I would be glad to.

Great pictures – does anyone who knows anything about motorcycles care to make a guess what kind of motorcycle that is and, more importantly, how old it is? It might give us a guess as to how long it had been there for this to happen.

There is also a penny tree in Lydford Gorge in Devon, UK, and I have also seen the one at Ingleton, yes that is the correct spelling.
